Midlife, Menopause, and Sexual Health with Dr. Diana Bitner
This week on The Beauty Standard, Nicole Gregory sits down and chats with a leading figure who is fostering the conversation of women’s sexual health — especially when it comes to menopause.
Diana Bitner, MD is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and amid practicing medicine, became Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of true. Women’s Health™. Dr. Bitner aims to reach as many women as possible, in order to share her wealth of knowledge for this unspoken phase that we either experience first hand, or love someone who does.
In 25+ years, she has delivered over 2,000 babies and performed countless surgeries, but today we hear the answers on why Dr. Bitner gave it all up to pursue research on menopause and what midlife means for women.
“You know, women sometimes just want the easy pill or the easy answer. I think we all know that really doesn’t exist, but there are very simple things we can do.”
In this podcast, Dr. Bitner dives into how we often misread the cues from our body that indicate what we are lacking something. Most healthcare providers are not working with individuals in this area of life, and with the emergence of midlife and menopause as a conversation, she reflects on how the information has existed for quite some time now —I it just has failed to reach the community of women it affects.
Dr. Diana Bitner is a Nationally Certified Menopause Physician (NCMP) through the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and was named the 2015 Menopause Practitioner of the Year. This national award recognized Dr. Bitner’s outstanding evidence-based care of patients. She has also completed specialized training with the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH).
