Ready to nourish your skin and give it a fresh start? Moxi and BBL Lasers are non-invasive light treatments used for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging — they may be a perfect solution for you! Book your FREE Laser Wellness Consultation at Urban You, Michigan’s #1 Medical Spa, today!

Even if you’ve never had any laser treatments performed on your skin at a medical spa before, odds are you’ve heard of at least one type of laser. When most people think of cosmetic laser treatments, they picture laser hair removal. We LOVE laser hair removal (and offer it at Urban You, wink wink), but today we’re focusing on a dynamic duo: Moxi and BBL Laser. Never heard of them before? That’s okay - we’ll teach you everything you need to know about them prior to booking your consultation. For even more information about all of the different laser treatments available, tune into The Beauty Standard Podcast, hosted by Nicole Gregory with Laser Specialist Dre Van Beek!

What is Moxi?

The Moxi is a laser treatment designed to treat signs of aging and other skin conditions on the face and neck. Moxi can help improve the texture, tone, and firmness of the skin. It reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage! Moxi is gentle and often used as a preventative measure against signs of aging.

How does Moxi work?

It uses a unique wavelength of light that targets both the top layer of skin (epidermis) and the deeper layer of skin (dermis), stimulating collagen and elastin production!

What is BBL Laser (Broad Band Light)?

BBL Laser, on the other hand, is a treatment that uses a larger range of wavelengths to target a variety of skin concerns, including: sun damage, redness, and hyperpigmentation/ irregularities. It can also be used to treat conditions such as acne and rosacea.

How does BBL Laser Work?

The BBL laser works by delivering pulses of light to the skin, which are then absorbed by pigmented areas or blood vessels. This causes the pigment or blood vessels to break down, which the body then naturally removes over time! BBL can help improve the overall appearance of the skin and targets specific blemishes such as age spots.

Both Moxi and BBL are non-invasive, meaning they do not require incisions or surgery! Most people can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. While healing, you may experience mends (pilling of treated skin, resembling coffee grounds). We recommend using a retinol-based product, like SkinMedica’s Retinol Complex, on your third day of healing to speed up the cell renewal process.
