Turning a Family Passion into a Successful Brand: Tête-à-Tête Skincare
Finding the perfect business partner can feel like trying to win the lottery. For Tête-à-Tête founders Kira and Sharon Vidergauz, it couldn’t have been easier – they were bonded at the hip the day Kira was born.
This mother-daughter duo had been using skincare separately for years, even though they were in completely different eras of life.
Sharon, a past cytopathologist, struggled to get what she wanted out of her skincare as she entered her sixties. Kira, her daughter, was a lawyer with a passion for skincare and the inability to use her everyday products as they interfered with her pregnancy. Together, the mother-daughter duo put their heads together to create Tête-à-Tête – a clean, safe, cruelty free product line for everyone.
Sharon and Kira wanted more than anything to create a skincare brand that was usable for everyone, regardless of age or ingredient restrictions. Their other main focus was designing products that effectively tackled skin inflammation, one of the largest causes of skin aging. As an expert in cellular health, Sharon knew that many popular brands actually use ingredients that triggered inflammation, a process she refers to as ‘inflammaging'.
Sharon and Kira set out to create a universal, accessible, safe brand for all — there’s no doubt that they succeeded with Tête-à-Tête.
